A disciple is a follower of Christ; he1 fellowships with other believers; and he1 fishes for men.2
First, as follower we mean he1 has an intimate relationship with Christ. He1 ardently seeks and enjoys His presence. Such that he1 reflects the same glory, being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.3
Second, a disciple makes it a habit to meet with fellow believers4 on a regular basis to encourage one another and keep the zeal burning.
Third, a disciple continuously seeks the lost in obedience to the Lord’s command.5 In the process, he1 is tempered to maturity.
A disciple is not necessarily a leader; but a Kingdom leader must be a disciple.
A worldly leader is an insecure leader and is a dangerous leader to follow. He1 must be tested through time. There is a process of character growth. Essentially, he1 needs to first understand his1 identity in Christ and reflect that image. The best leaders lead with the heart of a servant.6
As a disciple a Kingdom leader values his spouse and children; he accepts the responsibility to lead others, beginning with the home. Discipleship is the foundation for leading children in our homes. If we do not disciple our children, we will have weak leaders.7
