Let me paraphrase a Viber message, “A man sued a hospital. The reason: after an operation that his wife had, she lost all interest for intimacy. The defense attorney for the hospital stated that all they did was do a cataract operation.”
Isn’t it assuring that our God is El Roi,1 the God who sees? He is constant and knows all our concerns. He provides us with what is good. He is never late and never too early. Thus, we confidently believe and know that for those who love God all things work together for good.2
God calls and chooses those that are his.3 Just like David, lamenting that he could not build a house for the name of God for he was a man of war and had shed blood, yet the LORD God chose him from all his father’s house to be king over Israel forever.4
Have you considered what it is to be chosen and set apart by God? If not, read and meditate on Ephesians 1:3-14, and contemplate on all the spiritual blessings you have in Christ. And if you are his, the life you now live in the flesh you live by faith in the Son of God, who loved you and gave himself up for you.5
Will he not then bring to completion what he started in you?6
For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness.7 Rather say, “Here I am.”8
