When John’s two disciples followed Jesus, Jesus . . . said to them, “What are you seeking?” And they said to him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), . . .1

Much of what a leader does is to communicate. “All good communication in life must begin with communication with God. That’s were truth is found.”2 Basically, God communicates through His Word and, in turn, we communicate with Him through prayer.

A Kingdom leader is an altruistic leader. He3 is a learner; thus, a listener.

A Kingdom leader is a listener waiting for His Master’s instruction. He3 takes a posture of a recipient; always learning from the Master. These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.4

Through revelation a Kingdom leader is given a vision that he3 needs to communicate.

A Kingdom leader understands his3 identity in Christ. By faith a Kingdom leader accepts that he3 is an ambassador. A Kingdom leader is made perfect (yet, in practice, never is perfect; only progressively being transformed). In comparison to God’s standards a Kingdom leader pales; thus, is humbled. And operates through grace. A Kingdom leader acknowledges others as better. He3 knows that God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.5 Note, the proud are unteachable.

A Kingdom leader takes the role of mentor to his3 followers. As mentioned in my earlier blog, all of us need a mentor. We start ignorant and need to be educated. Like sheep that needs a shepherd. A Kingdom leader instructs and imparts. (God) chose David his servant and took him from the sheepfolds; from following the nursing ewes he brought him to shepherd Jacob his people, Israel his inheritance. With upright heart he shepherded them and guided them with his skillful hand.6

A Kingdom leader helps a follower grow to maturity through Prayer, Reading the Word, Observation, and Doing (PROD).
