Missed Opportunities

Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD.1

The word referred to in this verse is the Scripture, the Word of God.2 Understand that God is good and his steadfast love for his children endures forever.3 Although there are secrets things that belong to God, there are things that he has revealed so that his chosen ones may flourish.4

Ignorance is a bad choice. Am reminded of a couple who had invested in a second home at Los Angeles, and decided to tag along their all-around staff with them to do some repairs at the house they had bought (let me call him P). Unlike this couple, P was flying for the first time. They flew business; while P, economy. Upon landing they find out that P had not eaten for the entire flight, scared that he might have to pay for whatever he was offered.

Our Father desires to educate his chosen ones. Thus, he assigns the leaders of the church to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and from by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, . . . .5

Stop limiting yourself by trusting merely on your own understanding; rather, Trust in the LORD with all your heart, . . . In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.6
[Christ] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. . . .7 Now . . . we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the LORD set up, not man.8

As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.9

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming  of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.10
