God’s Way

Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.1

Advances in medicine is amazing. Whereas historically physicians only speculated. But during the Renaissance period, a breakthrough came when Andreas Versalius went against the norm and cut open human corpses. He revolutionized anatomy by direct human dissection and detailed observation, correcting misconceptions. His anatomical textbook De Humani Corporis Fabrica in 1543, laid the foundation for modern medical practice.2 Similarly, there is much diverse religious positions about God, which are speculative, based on opinions, traditions, and philosophies that contradict God’s commandments.3 Only through the knowledge of God’s Word can the truth surface. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.4

Teach Me Your Way. We have to be intentional in our study of Scripture lest we drift away,5 like a generation that didn’t know God.6 We need to be educated about God’s ways and leave behind our misconceived notions. God has a design and purpose for us. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.7

O LORD. Jesus is a supreme being; he is preeminent.8 He is the King of kings and Lord or lords.9 Our posture should be that of submission. I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.10

That I May Walk in Your Truth. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.11 Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.12

Unite My Heart. Pray that your heart beat as God’s heart beats, that it be made whole. My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.13 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.14 If you turn at my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit to you; I will make my words known to you.15

To Fear Your Name. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.16 Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.17

I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever. For great is your steadfast love toward me, you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.18 AMEN.
