And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.1
We cannot fault people for ignorance. But to choose to remain ignorant is another thing. We have been given the holy Scriptures that we may have certainty concerning the things that we have been taught.2
Are your beliefs resting on a solid foundation, anchored, and based on a sure hope3? What does it mean to be in Christ? Unless you understand, you will be tossed by every circumstance, one moment at rest and next moment fearful.
Consider who you are in Christ. If you are still striving to prove your worth through any iota of good works, stop. For apart from the finished4 work of Jesus Christ, they are like polluted garments.5 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.6 If you have come to Christ, it is because of God’s grace that he chose you in him before the foundation of the world.7 Yes, it was God the Father who ordained it;8 God the Son who accomplished it;9 and God the Holy Spirit who seals it.10
What in particular of your every need will God supply?
Do you believe that you have been forgiven, redeemed, made holy and blameless, accepted by the Beloved; thus, adopted as son? As heir, you are blessed in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,11. . . which he has lavished upon you, all wisdom and insight making known to you the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ.12
With certainty, we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son.13
